MUCHO MACHO MAN finished third in the Louisiana Derby on March 26, 2011.
MMM gave us a terrific effort Saturday finishing third by ¾ of a length. He broke well from the gate but lost the right front shoe in the process. He stalked the pace and at the turn made a gallant effort to catch the leader. We are very glad to report that MMM came out of the race with only minor cuts and some soreness in his right front foot. MMM will return to Gulfstream Park on Tuesday and resume his regular scheduled work as he prepares for the Kentucky Derby.
Thanks to our trainer Kathy Ritvo, her staff, Marcelino and Mike for their hard work in getting MMM ready and to the track in the Louisiana Derby. They are the best!
We would like to congratulate Pants on Fire for his victory and wish him the best of luck as he prepares for his run in the Kentucky Derby.
All of our other horses are doing well and several will have breezes this week at Gulfstream Park in preparation for their upcoming races.
Congratulations also to Eibar Coa on taking his first steps and his quick progress in his recovery. He is working hard and we look forward to visiting him soon.
