Mucho Macho Man Wins Suburban Handicap

Hello Race Fans,

IMPRESSIVE, UNBELIEVABLE, and AWESOME. Those are the words being said about the victory Saturday for MUCHO MACHO MAN in the 126th running of the Suburban Handicap. MMM under Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith broke very quick from the gate and settled in behind the leader covering the first quarter in 45.98. Keeping the pressure on MMM turned for home and drew away to win the race by 2 ½ lengths over Hymn Book. MMM’s time of 146.58 was the fastest time in the 126 year history of the Suburban Handicap. It was a hand ride for jockey Mike Smith and what a great job he did. Such a pro! Early indications are that the BRIS Speed figure for MMM in the race will be a sizzling 114.

Congratulations to Kathy Ritvo, her staff and Finn Green for an unbelievable job in preparing MMM for this race. I must also mention that Kathy Ritvo is the first female trainer to win the Suburban Handicap in its 126 year history. Congratulations Kathy!!!!

MMM arrived back in Saratoga this morning, is back in his stall and is doing very well. Just an amazing day and thank you to all of MMM’s fans for your continued support and kind words before and after the race.

All the best,

Dean
