MUCHO MACHO MAN WINS RISEN STAR GRADE 2 STAKES RACE!

MUCHO MACHO MAN WINS RISEN STAR GRADE 2 STAKES RACE!

On Saturday Feb 19th Mucho Macho Man won the Risen Star stakes race at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans.

MMM broke well from the gate and was in good position going into the first turn. MMM settled in behind the leaders along the backstretch and into the second turn. Once turned for home MMM dug in and pulled away for a 1 ½ length victory. Rajiv Maragh was filling in for the injured Eibar Coa and put together a masterful race. Kathy Ritvo and her staff have worked so hard in getting MMM prepared for this race and we cannot thank them enough.

Everyone was thrilled with the performance and the victory which now puts MMM squarely on the road to the Kentucky Derby. Plans for his next race will be made in a few weeks but I am happy to say that MMM came out of the race in good shape.

MMM has arrived back safe and sound to his home base at Gulfstream Park. He was met by a crowd of fans, TV and news reporters. Our thoughts and prayers go out to jockey Eibar Coa for a full and speedy recovery.

Job well done Kathy and MMM!!!!!!

WHISTLIN’ DIXIE ran his first race since August 2010 and finished 7th at Gulfstream Park. Whistlin’ ran hard early but appeared to tire down the stretch. This race will help him move forward and improve on his next outing.

UNCLE JOE also ran Saturday afternoon and finished 9th at Gulfstream Park. Uncle Joe ran near the front most of the way in a race that had a blistering pace. The quick early fractions left Uncle Joe with little down the finish but it was a good effort.

CAUSE I CAN continues to train well and is pointed toward a March 5th race at Tampa Bay.
